Your site, your name, your rules
The idea: your own ordering storefront, like yourresto.captain.food (or your own domain yourresto.fr as an option). Orders would come in direct, under your name, in three ways — all commission-free on your dishes:
- By delivery (a channel to come), paid decently.
- To take away, via click and collect: the customer orders ahead and picks up on site.
- At the table, by QR code: the customer scans and orders from their seat; payment at the till stays in your usual takings.
0% commission: the math it changes
On a classic platform, the commission sits around ~25 to 30% (public sources, 2024), while the average net margin of a restaurant is about ~3% (Observatoire Fiducial, UMIH/GHR/SNARR 2025). An illustrative example: on a €20 order, a platform can take ~€6; through your Captain.Food online ordering, it would be €0 on the dish — you keep your €20.
The service would be funded by a pay-what-you-want customer contribution (€0 is fine, no judgment), never by you, never a surcharge imposed on the customer. How we fund ourselves, in plain terms →
Your customers become your customers again
The most underrated point: on the big platforms, you don't even know who's ordering from you. Here, every order placed directly belongs to you — you get access to your customers' contact details (with their consent) to build loyalty yourself. Your customer base becomes an asset of yours again, not a third party's.
And nothing to install in a rush: we want to support the setup at your own pace (syncing your menu, putting your page online). No machine to learn in a panic.
