This policy describes how Captain.Food (“we”, “us”) collects and processes your personal data when you contact us through this site's form, as part of the local pilot run in Tours. We are committed to complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — “RGPD” in French) and the French Data Protection Act (“loi Informatique et Libertés”).
1. Data controller
Data processing is carried out by the Caring Hope Foundation association — a non-profit governed by the French law of July 1st, 1901 (“association loi 1901”), registered under number RNA W372020229, the organization carrying the Captain.Food project. For any question about your data, you can write to us at miam@captain.food.
2. Data we collect
Through the “Join the pilot” form, we collect:
- your first and last name;
- the name of your restaurant or food truck;
- your email address;
- your phone / WhatsApp number (optional);
- the free-text message you choose to send us.
On the demo mockups (join.captain.food/demo/), an optional feedback form may also collect your message and, if you provide it, your email address — solely so we can reply to you.
We collect no sensitive data and use no advertising tracking cookies. Any audience measurement is carried out anonymously and without cookies.
3. Purpose of processing
Your data is used solely to get back in touch with you about the Captain.Food pilot in Tours: talking with you, understanding your business and, where relevant, involving you in the first tests of the service. It serves no other purpose.
4. Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent, given via the form's checkbox. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see section 7).
5. Recipients of the data
Your data is accessible only to the Captain.Food project team. The form is processed by our technical provider Formspree (transmission and storage of form messages). We do not sell, rent or hand over your data to any third party for commercial purposes.
If you join our discussion community on WhatsApp (an optional channel), your messages there are processed by WhatsApp/Meta under its own terms of use. We never publish your contact details there.
6. Retention period
Your data is kept for the duration of the pilot and for a maximum of 24 months after your last contact with us, then deleted. You can request its deletion before then.
7. Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, as well as a right to data portability and the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, write to us at miam@captain.food. We will reply as promptly as possible, and at the latest within one month.
If, after contacting us, you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
8. Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect your data against unauthorized access. Exchanges with this site are encrypted (HTTPS).
9. Changes
This policy may evolve with the project. Any update will be published on this page.
